A felony charge of ineligible voting has been dismissed in Becker County District Court against Jacob Allen Hanson, 27, of Detroit Lakes.
He was discharged from probation on June 5 and the case was discharged without an adjudication of guilt, so there is no conviction on his record.
He successfully completed requirements for dismissal, including paying a $1,000 fine, $1,160 in court fees and serving 30 days in jail.
According to court records, on Nov. 8, 2016, he voted in the general election in Detroit Lakes before his civil rights were restored. He admitted voting while he was still on probation, following a June 25, 2015 conviction for drug possession.
