Jordan Daniel Kraft, 20, of Breckenridge was sentenced in Becker County District Court for felony simple robbery.
Charges of felony first-degree aggravated robbery and misdemeanor fifth-degree assault were dismissed in a plea agreement.
According to court records, shortly after 2 a.m. June 8, Kraft was one of two men who assaulted two other men waiting for a ride and stole their wallets in the 500 block of Washington Avenue. Kraft punched each of the men and the other assailant kicked one of them.
On Aug. 21, Kraft appeared before District Judge Jay Carlson, who sentenced him to 28 months in prison at St. Cloud, stayed 10 years.
He was ordered to serve 120 days in jail, with credit for 65 days served, and was fined $1,000 plus $1,165 in court fees.
He must get a chemical dependency evaluation and follow the recommendations, including aftercare. He was ordered to write a 300-word essay on how the criminal charge has affected his life. Restitution was reserved. He was placed on supervised probation for 10 years.
