Morning Star Bellcourt, 62, of Detroit Lakes was charged in Becker County District Court with felony second-degree assault and misdemeanor domestic assault.

According to court records, on Nov. 30 she called law enforcement to her residence, saying that a male relative had a billy club and was tearing up the apartment.

Officers found the relative who told them Bellcourt had been drinking and became hostile, according to court records. He was talking to his girlfriend on a FaceTime video call and Bellcourt threw a tomahawk at him, he said. It landed at his feet, and the girlfriend witnessed it during the FaceTime call, according to court records.

Bellcourt appeared in Becker County District Court Dec. 2 before Judge Gretchen Thilmony, who released her on her own recognizance, without bail.

Fugitive from justice charge filed against Maplewood woman

Rachael Lorraine Hendrickson, 46, of Maplewood was charged in Becker County District Court with felony fugitive from justice from another state.

According to court records, while Hendrickson was in the Becker County Jail, it was learned that she is wanted in Cass County, N.D., on a felony burglary charge.

Hendrickson appeared in Becker County District Court Nov. 27, where she waived her right to an extradition hearing and was ordered released on her own recognizance, without bail.

DL woman accused of assaulting boyfriend

Tasha Rae Burrow, 36, of rural Detroit Lakes was charged in Becker County District Court with felony domestic assault.

According to court records, on Dec. 1 she “snapped” and attacked her boyfriend, hitting him 10 to 20 times with open and closed fists. Two witnesses saw her hitting him, and said he did nothing to provoke the assault, which continued even as he tried to leave the residence, according to court records.

She was previously convicted of fifth-degree assault in 2015 and 2018.

Burrow appeared in Becker County District Court Dec. 3 before Judge Gretchen Thilmony, who set cash bail at $500 or bond at $10,000, with standard conditions of release, or bond at $20,000 with no conditions.

Callaway woman charged with possession of meth and pills

Lacey Rose Rousu-Hanks, 26, of rural Callaway was charged in Becker County District Court with felony fifth-degree controlled substance crime.

According to court records, on Nov. 11 a tribal police officer was called to a disturbance at a Becker County residence. After the subject of the call was dealt with, the resident asked that Rousu-Hanks also be removed because she appeared to be high on something and was being disruptive.

A search of her person revealed meth, two Gabapenten pills, two marijuana cigarettes and other substances, according to court records. She was arrested and taken to the hospital, and then to jail.

Rousu-Hanks appeared in Becker County District Court Nov. 11 before Judge Gretchen Thilmony, who set cash bail at $200 or bond at $2,000, with standard conditions of release, or bond at $10,000 with no conditions.

Woman faces felony charge after being caught in stolen car

Ivy Ladelle Ballard, 36, of Moorhead was charged in Becker County District Court with felony receiving stolen property and felony fifth-degree controlled substance crime.

According to court records, at 1:30 a.m. Nov. 14 a Detroit Lakes police officer identified Ballard as the driver of a vehicle that was parked there, even though the city park had closed at 10 p.m. The vehicle was found to have been stolen, and while being processed at the jail, Ballard was found to be in possession of just over a half-gram of meth, according to court records.

She appeared in Becker County District Court Nov. 14 before Judge Gretchen Thilmony, who released her on her own recognizance, without bail.
