A felony charge of fifth-degree controlled substance crime was dismissed in Becker County District Court against Christopher Marvin Manypenny, 24, of rural White Earth.
According to court records, on May 20, 2018, Manypenny was a passenger in a vehicle pulled over by a trooper on County Road 21 for going 76 mph in a 55 mph zone. The officer smelled marijuana, and Manypenny admitted he had a bag of marijuana in his shorts and another bag in the glove box. The total weight with packaging was 83.7 grams, according to the criminal complaint.
On Jan. 10, the charge was dismissed after the court found he had complied with all requirements of his probation, and all conditions laid down by the court, including serving 15 days in jail, paying a $700 fine and $790 in fees, and following the recommendations of a chemical dependency evaluation.
