At 12:33 p.m., the Frazee Fire Department responded to a train engine fire at Indy 500 Road and Frazee Road. The Burlington Northern Santa Fe train’s lead engine had a small fire and was mostly under control by train operators using extinguishers as firefighters arrived, according to Frazee Fire Chief Joe Nelson. The train was carrying flour and lumber.
At 11:15 a.m., the Detroit Lakes Police Department received a report of theft of a political yard sign on the 1100 block of Summit Avenue.
Monday, Sept. 21
At 8:56 a.m., the Becker County Sheriff’s Office received a report of theft of a Biden/Harris political yard sign off County Road 11, near Big Cormorant Lake, in Audubon.
At 11:11 a.m., the Detroit Lakes Police Department received a report of a stolen 2007 Chevy Silverado at the Prairie Wind Apartments, off Stone Creek Drive, by the vehicle’s owner. An investigation has been opened and is ongoing.
At 4:22 p.m., the Detroit Lakes Police Department received a report of theft of a 4x8 political yard sign on the 800 block of West Avenue.
At 8:26 p.m., the Frazee Police Department received a report of theft of two “Mark Flemmer for City Council” yard signs on the 200 block of West Main Avenue in Frazee. Flemmer has served on the city council since 2017.
