A Ulen man was arrested and charged with criminal vehicular operation, DWI and other pending charges after striking two people with his vehicle in the parking lot of the Cenex Store in Lake Park and then immediately fleeing the scene.
Law enforcement located the vehicle, driven by Travis Garret Job, age 28, in a swampy area west of Lake Park a short time after the incident, which occurred at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 12.
A press release from the Becker County Sheriff's Office states that the victims, a 72-year-old man and 59-year-old woman, were taken to Essentia Health-St. Mary's in Detroit Lakes with non-life-threatening injuries. Their names were not in the release.
The Minnesota State Patrol, Lake Park ALERT, Audubon Rescue and St. Mary's EMS assisted the sheriff's office with the incident. An investigation is ongoing.
