The following reports were compiled from the Becker County Sheriff’s Office and Detroit Lakes Police Department from an official with knowledge of the cases, unless otherwise noted.
Thursday, Feb. 4
At 8:02 a.m., near the intersection of West Main Avenue and 5th Street, Frazee, a vehicle hit a power pole. No injuries were reported and a team was dispatched to repair the damaged pole.
At 8:47 a.m., near the intersection of County Road 1 and Beseau Lake Road, Lake Park, a single vehicle rollover occurred. The driver reported a bump on the head, but no other serious injuries.
At 9:04 a.m., on the 700 block of Lake Avenue, Detroit Lakes, fraudulent unemployment claims were made for employees who didn’t file for unemployment.
At 10:05 a.m., on the 1200 block of Randolph Avenue, Detroit Lakes, a party did not pay their contractor for their services.
At 10:58 a.m., at Walmart at 1583 Highway 10, Detroit Lakes, a locked vehicle was left in the parking lot overnight. The vehicle was broken into and various items were stolen.
At 3:04 p.m., on the 100 block of Rivercrest Drive, Frazee, video captured a suspect damaging the drywall of a residence. A citation for property damage was issued to the suspect.
At 4:56 p.m., on the 12000 block of Pearl Lake Road, Detroit Lakes, a two-vehicle crash occurred. One party complained of chest and neck pain. They were transported to a nearby medical clinic for treatment.
At 7:40 p.m., on the 25000 block of Brandy Lake Road, Detroit Lakes, a Publisher’s Clearing House scam was reported.
At 8:38 p.m., on the 21000 block of East Height of Land Drive, Detroit Lakes, a fire was reported at a residence. Flames were visible and appeared to start near the chimney area. Wolf Lake, Detroit Lakes and Frazee firefighters responded to the scene and extinguished the fire.
At 11:40 p.m., on the 500 block of South Washington Avenue, Detroit Lakes, the money for a football number’s board was stolen.
Friday, Feb. 5
At 1:48 a.m., on the 23000 block of County Road 22, Detroit Lakes, a shop, next to a residence, was reported on fire. Utilities were disconnected and multiple fire departments responded to the blaze.
At 8:48 a.m., on the 1000 block of Roosevelt Avenue, Detroit Lakes, a family member stole another family member’s EBT card and was using it without authorization.
At 10:18 a.m., on the 2000 block of 2nd Street, Lake Park, an individual discovered fraudulent unemployment paperwork filed in their name.
At 1:22 p.m., at Walmart at 1583 Highway 10, Detroit Lakes, a shoplifter was reported.
At 2:05 p.m., on the 12000 block of 280th Avenue, Detroit Lakes, a caller found a deceased woman lying behind a pickup truck. Becker County Sheriff Todd Glander said the woman was 84 years old and investigators found nothing suspicious when investigating the death.
At 4:45 p.m., at Menards at 1465 Menard Drive, Detroit Lakes, a shoplifter was reported.
Saturday, Feb. 6
At 10:54 a.m., on the 37000 block of Little White Earth Lake Road, Ogema, a caller was packing up belongings from an evicted family member and found an envelope containing a powdery substance. The caller thought it was possible methamphetamine.
At 12:39 p.m., on the 25000 block of Bear Clan Drive, Ogema, an overdose was reported. The individual received a Narcan injection and responded positively. The victim refused further medical treatment and transport.
At 1:40 p.m., at the Quality Inn and Suites at 615 Highway 10, Detroit Lakes, a syringe was found in the parking lot.
At 4:11 p.m., near Woodrow Avenue and Wilson Avenue, Detroit Lakes, an individual exited their vehicle to check a tire and another party inside the vehicle stole the vehicle. The suspect was arrested while in possession of the stolen vehicle.
At 6:05 p.m., on the 200 block of Stone Creek Drive, Detroit Lakes, a fire was caused from burning food. No damage or injuries were reported.
At 6:08 p.m., at Menards at 1465 Menard Avenue, Detroit Lakes, a shoplifter was reported.
At 7:31 p.m., at Menards at 1465 Menard Avenue, Detroit Lakes, a shoplifter was reported.
At 9:12 p.m., on the 34000 block of 336th Avenue, Ogema, a pickup truck and trailer were stolen. The vehicle and trailer were found in a nearby ditch and the truck had multiple items stolen from it.
Sunday, Feb. 7
At 12:33 p.m., on the 16000 block of Highway 10, Lake Park, an odor of burnt plastic was discovered. The smell came from a bad furnace element and was cleared by first responders.
At 12:31 p.m., at Walmart at 1583 Highway 10, Detroit Lakes, a shoplifter was reported.
At 5:58 p.m., at Walmart at 1583 Highway 10, Detroit Lakes, a shoplifter was reported.
Monday, Feb. 8
At 2:33 p.m., on the 400 block of Minnesota Avenue, Detroit Lakes, multiple personal garbage bags were dumped into a commercial dumpster.
At 3:19 p.m., at Lake Park-Audubon High School at 611 Vigen Lane, Lake Park, a caller reported vandalism in a restroom.
At 3:52 p.m., on the 37000 block of Height of Land Drive, Rochert, a caller reported someone tried to open an unemployment claim in their name.
At 10:59 p.m., on the 400 block of Andrews Avenue, Detroit Lakes, a black, 2011 Hyundai Sonata was stolen.
