The following reports were compiled from the Becker County Sheriff’s Office and Detroit Lakes Police Department from an official with knowledge of the cases, unless otherwise noted.

Thursday, Feb. 11

At 7:55 a.m., on the 27000 block of 292nd Street, Callaway, an overdose was reported. Three doses of Narcan were administered before the victim began to respond. Heroine is believed to have caused the overdose. The victim refused additional medical treatment.

At 10:33 a.m., on the 1500 block of Highway 10, Detroit Lakes, a convenience store theft occurred. The caller said the theft may have been conducted by an employee. The incident is under investigation.

At 1:13 p.m., on the 11000 block of Highway 10, Lake Park, a vehicle drove into a storage unit.

At 2:23 p.m., on the 18000 block of County Road 25, Detroit Lakes, a caller reported an unauthorized unemployment claim was filed in their name. This is the eighth reported unemployment fraud reported to the Becker County Sheriff’s Office since the beginning of the year.

At 2:59 p.m., on the 200 block of Stone Creek Drive, Detroit Lakes, packages were reported stolen from two different buildings in an apartment complex.

Friday, Feb. 12

At 12:14 p.m., at Walmart at 1583 Highway 10, Detroit Lakes, a shoplifter was reported.

At 1:49 p.m., on the 26000 block of Crane Road, Ogema, a drug overdose was reported. Narcan was administered to the individual, who refused additional medical treatment.

At 2:02 p.m., at Walmart at 1583 Highway 10, Detroit Lakes, a shoplifter was reported.

Saturday, Feb. 13

At 1:00 p.m., on the 800 block of East Central Street, Detroit Lakes, a tablet was reported stolen.

Sunday, Feb. 14

At 9:44 a.m., on the 2000 block of 2nd Street, Lake Park, a counterfeit $100 bill was passed to a business.

At 2:27 p.m., on the 14000 block of Highway 10, Lake Park, a counterfeit $100 bill was passed to a business. The suspect was still on-site when officers arrived and was arrested.

At 3:03 p.m., on the 100 block of West Main Avenue, Frazee, an inflatable bathtub was stolen from a residence.

At 5:34 p.m., on the 800 block of East Central Street, Detroit Lakes, a caller reported the person who was dog sitting for them sold their dog while they were away to a third party. The dog was located by police and returned to the owner.

Monday, Feb. 15

At 10:12 a.m., on the 200 block of Elm Street, Detroit Lakes, two heaters were stolen from a garage.

At 10:37 a.m., on the 25000 block of 130th Street, Detroit Lakes, a debit card was stolen. The caller reported the card had attempted to be used in Texas, but no transaction was completed due to the card being flagged as stolen.

At 10:59 p.m., on the 300 block of Frazee Street, Detroit Lakes, a shopping cart damaged a car in a parking lot.

At 12:41 p.m., on the 14000 block of County Road 5, Lake Park, a fire was reported to a non-attached garage unit of a residence. No flames were visible when first responders arrived, but heavy smoke was present.

At 3:00 p.m., at Walmart at 1583 Highway 10, Detroit Lakes, a shoplifter was reported.

At 5:28 p.m., on the 14000 block of 340th Street, Ulen, various items were stolen from a house and workshop.

At 5:42 p.m., on the 1200 block of 8th Street, Detroit Lakes, a fire was reported in the wall of a residence. The homeowners were trying to thaw their pipes with a space heater, which started the fire. Firefighters arrived before the fire fully developed and were able to extinguish the blaze with minimal damage.
