The following reports were compiled from the Becker County Sheriff’s Office and Detroit Lakes Police Department from an official with knowledge of the cases, unless otherwise noted.
Monday, July 19
4:04 a.m., 36000 block Marten Drive, Ogema,assault involving two-parties. Medical attention was denied. Alcohol may have played a role in the incident.
6:29 a.m., 28000 block Somdahl Road, Callaway, vehicle on-fire in a roadside ditch. Callaway firefighters extinguished the blaze. Driver was not found and the vehicle owner could not be reached.
7:02 a.m., 1000 block Washington Avenue, Detroit Lakes, Motorola mobile phone found.
9:06 a.m., 30000 block Shady Lane, Detroit Lakes, identity theft. Caller said multiple accounts had been opened in their name without authorization.
9:29 a.m., 39000 block north Elbow Lake Drive, Waubun, vehicle damage to a gas cover.
9:41 a.m., 400 block West Lake Drive, Detroit Lakes, inappropriate sexual conduct. Incident is under investigation.
11:00 a.m., 1500 block Randolph Avenue, Detroit Lakes, suicide related. Officer spoke to the individual. The individual was transported to a nearby medical clinic for an evaluation.
12:22 p.m., near Detroit Lake, Detroit Lakes, paddle boat rental taking on water. Boat was pulled out of the lake by law enforcement.
12:28 p.m., 600 block west Central Avenue, Detroit Lakes, window broken on parked vehicle.
2:47 p.m., 200 block Barbara Avenue, Detroit Lakes, scratch marks found on a vehicle.
3:29 p.m., 100 block west Willow Street, Detroit Lakes, money stolen from an employee’s drawer at a business.
Tuesday, July 20
5:20 a.m., near County Road 36 and 170th Street, Frazee, single-vehicle rollover. No vehicle occupants found. Appeared abandoned.
8:33 a.m., 33000 block 130th Street, Frazee, rancher sold $12,000 worth of goats to another party and did not get paid for them. The rancher may file a civil lawsuit.
9:08 a.m., 900 block Pembina Trail, Detroit Lakes, residential burglary. A black, 2012 Kia Sorento and other miscellaneous items missing.
9:57 a.m., near Cherry Avenue, Frazee, vehicle sold to another party. A payment plan was agreed to during the sale, but the purchaser has not made any of the payments to the seller.
12:47 p.m., 500 block Summit Avenue, Detroit Lakes, two broken windows in a vacant building. The windows are valued at $1,000 to replace.
2:03 p.m., 1000 block Lake Avenue, Detroit Lakes, summer camp scam involving a local church. The church is not affiliated with the camp or program being solicited.
2:12 p.m., 1100 block south Washington Avenue, Detroit Lakes, gas pump drive-off.
2:37 p.m., 35000 block County Road 120, Frazee, attempted mail fraud.
4:33 p.m., near Front Street and Minnesota Avenue, Detroit Lakes, alleged theft. One party was transported to a nearby medical clinic for evaluation.
4:36 p.m., 1200 block Minnesota Avenue, Detroit Lakes, grandson-jail scam. The caller did not give any money to the scammer.
5:16 p.m., in Becker County, attempted phone scam involving lottery winnings the caller did not participate in the lottery.
7:54 p.m., near County Road 39 and County Road 38, Frazee, single vehicle rollover. Driver appears to be OK. They were transported to a nearby medical clinic as a precautionary measure.
Wednesday, July 21
12:33 p.m., 800 block Summit Avenue, Detroit Lakes, two driver’s licenses found in Fargo, N.D., and were returned to the cardholders via the Detroit Lakes Police Department.
1:44 p.m., 41000 block Many Point Scout Camp Road, Ponsford, sexual conduct.
1:58 p.m., near north Buffalo Lake Road and County Road 34, Callaway, small grass fire. Fire extinguished by the time first responders arrived.
2:56 p.m., 35000 block County Road 21, Ogema, juvenile hit by a vehicle on July 20. Caller took the juvenile for medical treatment the next day. The case is being handled by the White Earth Police Department.
5:22 p.m., near South Shore Drive and Highway 10, Detroit Lakes, two-vehicle crash. One vehicle t-boned the other near the intersection. Both drivers, a 30-year-old Perham man and a 60-year-old Frazee woman, were transported to the hospital with minor injuries and later released. Investigators have referred the case to the county attorney for possible charges of one of the drivers.
8:22 p.m., 26000 block Beaver Trail, Ogema, theft of multiple children's bicycles among other items.
