The following reports were compiled from the Becker County Sheriff’s Office and Detroit Lakes Police Department from an official with knowledge of the cases, unless otherwise noted.
Monday, Aug. 30
8:40 a.m., at R and G Subaru at 1140 Highway 10, Detroit Lakes, catalytic converter theft.
5:11 p.m., 600 block Highway 10, Detroit Lakes, disorderly. A male was seen, possibly intoxicated, screaming at and flipping off cars as they drove by. After being confronted by officers, the man said he was angry because he thought he lost his phone.
Tuesday, Aug. 31
2:19 p.m., at the Cormorant Store at 10839 County Road 5, Pelican Rapids, two packages of lottery tickets, worth an estimated $1,000, are missing.
7:45 p.m., near Highway 10 and Roosevelt Avenue, Detroit Lakes, a hit-and-run involving two vehicles occurred. No injuries were reported.
8:17 p.m., 900 block West Lake Drive, Detroit Lakes, recreational campfire during a county burning ban. Fire extinguished.
9:15 p.m., 27000 block Linden Road, Rochert, about $3,000 in cash is missing from a personal safe. The case is under investigation.
10:43 p.m., 49000 block Pow Wow Highway, Ponsford, assault involving three females. Two women assaulted a third woman, who was treated at a nearby medical clinic with head and back injuries. The case is under investigation.
Wednesday, Sept. 1
4:33 a.m., 17000 block 190th Avenue, Audubon, a side-by-side all-terrain vehicle was found abandoned in a roadside ditch. Pieces of the vehicle were also found on the roadway.
6:01 a.m., 1500 block Highway 10, Detroit Lakes, multiple flower pots smashed at a gas station.
8:53 a.m., 1000 1st Street, Lake Park, multiple windows broken at a building.
10:15 a.m., 20000 block County Road 21, Detroit Lakes, physical domestic between two parties. An 18-year-old female suffered possible neck injuries and a medical unit was sent; she was not transported. The 15-year-old male suspect fled on foot, was apprehended by law enforcement and transferred to a detention facility in Moorhead.
2:44 p.m., near County Road 14 and 190th Avenue, Callaway, about 2 acres of a hay field on fire. The property owner dug behind the blaze for containment. First responders were canceled.
3:01 p.m., 40000 block Little Toad Road, Frazee, jailed-relative scam. The victim sent the scammer $500. They are currently trying to cancel the transfer through their financial institution.
9:10 p.m., at Walmart at 1583 Highway 10, Detroit Lakes, shoplifting.
10:48 p.m., at the Becker County Jail at 1428 Stony Road, Detroit Lakes, an intoxicated inmate was taken to a nearby medical facility for treatment.
