A 22-year-old Lake Park man was pronounced dead at the scene of an apparent drug overdose on Sunday, after repeated attempts to revive the man failed.

Manuel Torres Pelcastre, 22, of rural Lake Park, was found unresponsive and not breathing by first responders early Sunday, Sept. 5, in a residence on the 27000 block of County Road 9 in Lake Park. CPR was continuously performed on Pelcastre and four doses of Narcan were administered to no effect, according to the Becker County Sheriff's Office.

Pelcastre was pronounced dead at the scene and arrangements were made to transfer custody of the deceased to a funeral service provider, according to the report.

A witness was present during the incident and the case remains under active investigation, a sheriff's office official said.
