The following reports were compiled from the Becker County Sheriff’s Office and Detroit Lakes Police Department, from an official with knowledge of the cases, unless otherwise noted.

Thursday, Sept. 30

12:14 a.m., near 190th and 550th Avenue, Osage, abandoned vehicle found in the ditch. Owner was contacted and they will have it towed.

11:34 a.m., 300 block north Lake Street, Frazee, domestic incident. A 9-year-old boy reported a domestic incident at his home. No arrests were made. No injuries were reported. The case is under investigation by the Frazee Police Department.

12:01 p.m., 1300 block Minnesota Avenue, Detroit Lakes, a parent reported an incident of online bullying involving their child.

1:30 p.m., near east Big Cormorant Road, Audubon, fatal medical. A 75-year-old man reported difficulty breathing. His condition deteriorated. CPR was performed at the scene, but the man never recovered and was pronounced dead.

5:01 p.m., 45000 block Highway 34, Osage, two sets of earrings stolen. One set was diamond and the other gold. The sets were valued at $500 each.

5:02 p.m., 200 block Cherry Ridge Drive, Detroit Lakes, domestic incident involving a juvenile and mother. No injuries were reported at the scene. A 16-year-old boy was detained and transported to a juvenile detention facility in Moorhead.

5:35 p.m., 1100 block Highway 59, Detroit Lakes, shoplifting incident at L & M Fleet.

11:08 p.m., 400 block Main Street, Ogema, vehicle missing. The caller left their vehicle parked behind the liquor store on Saturday. After returning five days later, the black, 1994 Chevy Suburban was gone.

Friday, Oct. 1

7:28 a.m., 39000 north Elbow Lake Road, Waubun, tires slashed on two different vehicles. The incident is under investigation.

10:43 a.m., 1000 block Timber Drive, Detroit Lakes, unemployment claim fraud attempted. The caller canceled the claim and no money was transferred.

1:38 p.m., 1000 block 1st Avenue, Lake Park, online scam. A 58-year-old woman lost $1,000 through her online account. She was advised to contact the financial institution to freeze her account. The case is under investigation.

1:48 p.m., near White Earth, a Tri-county inmate reported their COVID-19 check was cashed without authorization.

1:54 p.m., near County Road 50 and Two Inlets Drive, Park Rapids, smoke reported from a possible brush fire. A Minnesota Department of Natural Resources team was dispatched to the scene.

9:56 p.m., at Detroit Lakes High School at 1301 Roosevelt Avenue, a parked vehicle was damaged.

11:14 p.m., 100 block north Manninen Avenue, Menahga, motor vehicle theft. A white, 1995 Dodge Ram 3500 was stolen. The vehicle was found a short time later abandoned in a roadside ditch.

Saturday, Oct. 2

1:43 a.m., 55000 block Highway 34, Osage, shots fired. The caller heard about a dozen rounds fired from a possible handgun. The officer was unable to locate the party who fired the shots.

11:50 a.m., at Detroit Lakes High School at 1301 Roosevelt Avenue, Detroit Lakes, a license plate was stolen from a vehicle while parked for the football game.

3:50 p.m., 34000 block 336th Avenue, Ogema, two male suspects spray painted a residence causing damage.

5:27 p.m., near Highway 59 and County Road 6, Detroit Lakes, two-vehicle crash. No injuries reported.

8:10 p.m., 25000 block 353rd Circle, Ogema, a group of juveniles are throwing rocks at the window of a residence. The suspects fled before law enforcement arrived.

Sunday, Oct. 3

1:18 a.m., at the Becker County Jail at 1428 Stony Road, Detroit Lakes, an inmate, suffering from an unknown medical issue, was transported to a nearby medical clinic for treatment, then returned to the jail.

11:28 a.m., 200 block Minnesota Avenue, Detroit Lakes, mobile phone damaged.

12:52 p.m., 200 block east Main Street, Detroit Lakes, a purse was stolen out of a parked vehicle that was unlocked.

1:48 p.m., at Orton’s Audubon Cenex at 129 2nd Street, Audubon, shoplifting.

5:03 p.m., 35000 block County Road 46, Park Rapids, credit card fraud involving $219 in bad charges.

6:32 p.m., near County Road 29 and the Pine Lake Access, Rochert, a tree on fire was reported.

8:11 p.m., 700 block west Main Avenue, Frazee, a brush guard for a pickup truck was stolen.
