Crime and fire report: 1 arrested in domestic assault; change of address scam reported in Detroit Lakes

On Tuesday, Nov. 9 at 5:33 p.m., on the 48000 block of County Road 26, Ponsford, a 33-year-old woman was arrested after hitting her boyfriend multiple times while she was allegedly intoxicated. Also, on Monday, Nov. 8 at 4:48 p.m., on the 12000 block of 280th Avenue, Detroit Lakes, a caller was alerted to a possible change-of-address scam by their postal carrier. The attempted address change had a New Jersey postal code. The postmaster reported the incident to LifeLock and the case is under investigation.

Monday, Nov. 8

6:39 a.m., 2000 block 2nd Street, Lake Park, vehicle damaged from debris dropped by a skid steer while it crossed the roadway.

8:49 a.m., 600 block Vigen Lane, Lake Park, a student laptop was stolen out of a locker at Lake Park-Audubon High School.

12:27 p.m., at Walmart at 1583 Highway 10, Detroit Lakes, three past action reports of shoplifting.

12:38 p.m., 1000 block 1st Street, Lake Park, window broken at a residence.

12:47 p.m., 100 block Hawley Street, Lake Park, two R/C cars with chargers and battery packs were stolen from an unlocked garage.

4:48 p.m., 12000 block 280th Avenue, Detroit Lakes, possible change-of-address scam. The caller was alerted by their postal carrier that someone attempted to change their address. The attempted change had a New Jersey address. The postmaster reported the incident to LifeLock and the case is under investigation.

5:58 p.m., 11000 block Cormorant Heights, Audubon, a 16-year-old boy was reported as a runaway. His vehicle was located unoccupied and his cell phone was left inside the vehicle.

6:25 p.m., 100 block south Lake Street, Frazee, vehicle window damaged by a possible bullet.

7:18 p.m., near County Road 34, Ogema, an assault was reported. A 27-year-old woman claims she was slapped by a man at a bar and ejected from the premises after, she said, the bar wouldn’t call the police. The incident is under investigation.

Tuesday, Nov. 9

10:23 a.m., 29000 block Highway 10, Detroit Lakes, two-vehicle crash. One vehicle was rear ended. No injuries were reported.

12:30 p.m., 39000 block Jahnke Road, Detroit Lakes, unauthorized charges on the caller’s Walmart account.

1:16 p.m., 11000 block Highway 10, Lake Park, unauthorized account opened in the caller’s name.

3:10 p.m., at Walmart at 1583 Highway 10, Detroit Lakes, cell phone stolen.

3:29 p.m., 15000 block County Road 19, Detroit Lakes, mailbox damaged.

5:08 p.m., near Lake Park, an individual reportedly bought cigarettes and alcohol for underage persons. The case is under investigation.

5:33 p.m, 48000 block County Road 26, Ponsford, domestic assault. A 33-year-old woman, who was allegedly intoxicated, hit a 32-year-old man multiple times. No injuries were reported. The woman was arrested.
