Crime and fire report: House fire in Detroit Lakes, vehicle fire in Frazee

On Tuesday, Nov. 2 at 4:26 a.m., on the 25000 block of Brandy Lake Road, Detroit Lakes, a house fire was reported by a neighbor. The fire was extinguished after three hours. The residents were not at home at the time of the fire. The incident is under investigation. Also, on Wednesday, Nov. 3, on the 500 block of east Main Avenue, Frazee, a vehicle fire was reported. The fire was extinguished. Officials believe the fire originated with the power amp for the vehicle's sound system.

Monday, Nov. 1

9:30 a.m., 2000 block 2nd Street, Lake Park, shoplifting at Casey’s General Store.

10:08 a.m., 1100 block west River Road, Detroit Lakes, multiple vehicles scratched with a sharp object.

10:32 a.m., at Detroit Lakes High School at 1301 Roosevelt Avenue, Detroit Lakes, a student was in possession of a boxcutter at school. The boxcutter was confiscated and the parents of the student were spoken to.

11:44 a.m., 200 block west Front Street, Detroit Lakes, theft of goods from a business.

12:07 p.m., 36000 295th Avenue, Ogema, a power converter, valued at $120, and prescription medication were stolen.

1:44 p.m., 47000 block Waboose Drive, Ponsford, a 15-year-old female was reported as a runaway. She has been missing since Friday, Oct. 29.

2:09 p.m., 38000 block Moose Street, Ogema, grass fire. Extinguished before first responders arrived.

8:09 p.m., 200 block Heights Ridge Lane, Detroit Lakes, a 23-year-old man was arrested for violating a domestic abuse no-contact order.

10:48 p.m., 25000 block County Road 22, Detroit Lakes, domestic incident. A 32-year-old woman hit her 40-year-old husband in the head with a phone. No injuries were reported and no arrests were made.

11:45 p.m., at the Detroit Lakes Police Station at 807 Summit Avenue, Detroit Lakes, Fargo police informed the department of a threat against Detroit Lakes High School for the following day. The Fargo police said their information came from a local news outlet .

Tuesday, Nov. 2

4:26 a.m., 25000 block Brandy Lake Road, Detroit Lakes, house fire. Occupants were not home at the time of the fire, which was called in by a neighbor. Extinguished after three hours. The incident is under investigation.

11:09 a.m., 1200 block 8th Street, Detroit Lakes, a report of a neighbor punching the caller in the face. No medical attention was needed and no arrests were made. The case is under investigation.

1:01 p.m., 40000 block County Road 34, Detroit Lakes, a report of lottery tickets being stolen from a business. The caller said they have footage of the theft. The case is under investigation.

1:05 p.m., 1000 block West Lake Drive, Detroit Lakes, two ladders were stolen from a yard.

2:22 p.m., 1300 block Highway 10, Detroit Lakes, drug paraphernalia found while cleaning a hotel room.

2:58 p.m., 100 block east Holmes Street, Detroit Lakes, a suspect attempted to cash a fraudulent check at a bank. No transaction occurred and the incident is under investigation.

Wednesday, Nov. 3

7:49 a.m., 500 block east Main Avenue, Frazee, vehicle fire. Extinguished. The fire originated with the power amp of the vehicle sound system.

10:47 a.m., 37000 block County Road 127, Park Rapids, unauthorized EBT card withdrawal.

1:37 p.m., at Walmart at 1583 Highway 10, Detroit Lakes, parked vehicle damage.

3:08 p.m., 40000 block Scent of Pine Shores, Waubun, unauthorized bank account use.

3:30 p.m., 23000 block Pebble Beach Lane, Detroit Lakes, phone scam.
