Crime and fire report: White Earth police arrest 1 in car chase

Thursday, Sept. 24

At 10:49 a.m., the Becker County Sheriff’s Office received a report of vandalism off County Road 143, near 330th Avenue, in Ogema. The caller reported a missing Biden/Harris political yard sign from the property.

At 12.24 p.m., the Becker County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a theft off Eagle Lake Road and Lake Six Road, in Frazee. The caller reported the theft of two pontoon boat speakers from the caller’s hunting property

At 7:02 p.m., the Becker County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a pursuit in progress along County Road 37 near Ponsford. The White Earth Police Department pursued a vehicle refusing to stop, which turned eastbound along County Road 58. The suspect’s vehicle crashed and no injuries were reported. One arrest has been made in the incident, according to a White Earth public safety official.

At 9:07 a.m., the Detroit Lakes Police Department received a report of a burglary on the 300 block of Shorewood Drive in Detroit Lakes. The caller reported a missing portable generator and bicycle from a garage on the property.

Friday, Sept. 25

At 10:34 a.m., the Detroit Lakes Police Department received a report of a theft on the 200 block of Laura Avenue. The caller reported two bicycles missing from their bike rack within the last week.

At 11:16 a.m., the Becker County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a theft on County Road 56, near South Twin Lake in Frazee. The caller reported missing Biden/Harris political signs from the property.

At 11:48 a.m., the Becker County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a theft on County Road 35, near North Icecracking Trail in Ponsford. Caller reported the theft of a wood-burning stove within the past week from the property.

At 12:23 p.m., the Detroit Lakes Police Department received a report of a theft on the 500 block of 11th Avenue. The caller reported various missing items from the Detroit Lakes Middle School and Roosevelt Elementary school building and will send a detailed list to DLPD at a later date.

At 4:52 p.m., the Becker County Sheriff's Office received a report of a fire at a gravel pit at 290th Street and 560th Avenue, near Park Rapids.

At 6:33 p.m., the Detroit Lakes Police Department received a report of a theft on the 300 block of Dean Street. The caller reported a missing Trump political yard sign from the property.

At 8:40 p.m., the Detroit Lakes Police Department received a report of property damage on the 1200 block of Washington Avenue. The caller reported damage to an Arvig Communications box.

Saturday, Sept. 26

At 1:39 p.m., the Detroit Lakes Police Department received a report of property damage on the 1200 block of Loring Avenue. The caller reported their vehicle’s tires were punctured in the apartment parking lot.

At 4:28 p.m., the Becker County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a theft on the 25000 block of Washington Drive, near Straight Lake, in Osage. The caller reported two missing Biden political signs and a missing Black Lives Matter sign from the property.

At 5:13 p.m., the Becker County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a theft on the 400 block of Main Avenue in Callaway. The caller reported $600 missing from her bank account after her billfold was stolen. The case is under investigation by the White Earth Police Department.

Sunday, Sept. 27

At 4:41 a.m., the Becker County Sheriff’s Office received a report of an assault off County Highway 34 and Lynx Lane in Ogema. The caller reported being assaulted at the property and leaving the residence soon after. No arrests have been made. The case is under investigation by the White Earth Police Department.

At 11:21 a.m., the Detroit Lakes Police Department received a report of property damage on the 1200 block of Loring Avenue. The caller reported the rear window of their vehicle was smashed and the vehicle’s tires were slashed.

Monday, Sept. 28

At 10:54 a.m., the Detroit Lakes Police Department received a report of property damage at 802 West Lake Drive, the West Lake Laundry. The caller reported eight broken coin-laundry machines.

At 12:09 p.m., the Detroit Lakes Police Department received a report of a theft on the 300 block of Dean Street. The caller reported two missing Trump political yard signs from the property.

At 12:17 p.m., the Detroit Lakes Police Department received a report of vandalism on the 500 block of Summit Avenue. The caller reported spray painted graffiti on the side of a building.

At 5:04 p.m., the Becker County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a theft at Pebble Beach Lane and West Lake Sallie Drive in Detroit Lakes. The caller reported a missing political sign from the property.

At 6:17 p.m., the Becker County Sheriff’s Office received a report of fraud off County Highway 31, near Hungry Lake, in Frazee. The caller reported that he had paid a contractor $3,000 for services to seal an out building located on the property. The work was completed, but the seals did not hold. The contractor has not returned any messages, or answered any of the caller’s repeated calls.
