Crime report: Bobcat skid steer stolen in Detroit Lakes; horse struck by vehicle near Callaway

On Monday, Oct. 25 at 8:43 a.m., on the 23000 block of south Melissa Drive, Detroit Lakes, a Bobcat skid steer was stolen. A $2,000 reward has been offered for information that leads to the arrest of the suspect. Also on Monday, at 3:51 a.m., on the 29000 block County Road 34, Callaway, a vehicle struck a horse on the roadway. The horse was motionless and removed from the scene. No other injuries were reported.

Monday, Oct. 25

3:51 a.m., 29000 block County Road 34, Callaway, a vehicle struck a horse on the roadway. The horse was motionless in the roadside ditch and removed from the scene.

8:43 a.m., 23000 block south Melissa Drive, Detroit Lakes, a Bobcat skid steer was reported stolen. A $2,000 reward has been offered for information leading to the arrest of a suspect. Call the Becker County Sheriff's Office, Deputy Bruce, at 218-847-2661 with any information about the theft. The case is under investigation.

9:55 a.m., at the Washington Avenue/Willow Street roundabout, Detroit Lakes, a two-vehicle crash occurred. No injuries were reported.

9:55 a.m., 1100 block Jackson Avenue, Detroit Lakes, vandalism. Letters were spray painted on a building.

12:22 p.m., at Walmart at 1583 Highway 10, Detroit Lakes, shoplifting.

2:27 p.m., at Walmart at 1583 Highway 10, Detroit Lakes, shoplifting.

2:31 p.m., at Walmart at 1583 Highway 10, Detroit Lakes, shoplifting.

2:46 p.m., 39000 block Village Drive, Waubun, items stolen from a yard. The incident was captured on video and the case is under investigation.

3:11 p.m., 35000 block Mission Road, Ogema, a report of juveniles with possible drugs.

7:43 p.m., 18000 block County Road 25, Detroit Lakes, suicide related. A 17-year-old boy was reported as being suicidal and in possession of a firearm. The caller was able to secure the firearm before law enforcement arrived to the scene. The boy was transported to a nearby medical clinic for evaluation.

Tuesday, Oct. 26

10:10 a.m., 900 block 8th Street, Detroit Lakes, window broken at a residence. The caller suspects the break was caused by a BB or pellet gun.

10:19 a.m., 19000 block Sportsmen Road, Audubon, a tractor collided with a power pole. A power line was down and lying across the tractor. No injuries were reported.

11:29 a.m., 29000 block Highway 34, Detroit Lakes, a roadside address post was damaged.

12:27 p.m., at Detroit Lakes High School at 1301 Roosevelt Avenue, Detroit Lakes, inappropriate video or photos involving students.

1:48 p.m., 12000 block 280th Avenue, Detroit Lakes, an unknown party tried to open up a debit card account in the caller’s name. The attempt was unsuccessful.

2:13 p.m., 300 block Sunset Avenue, Detroit Lakes, email scam. No information given to scammer.

4:33 p.m., 12000 block Hollywood Lane, Detroit Lakes, hand injury. The injured party was transported to a nearby medical clinic for treatment.

Wednesday, Oct. 27

12:47 p.m., near Rattlesnake Circle, Waubun, burglary.

12:48 p.m., 100 block east Swan Street, Audubon, gas main struck. Gas was secured and the scene was cleared.

8:50 p.m., 200 block Court Lane, Detroit Lakes, credit cards stolen. Purchases were made using the cards and the account was locked by the cardholder. A suspect is being sought and the case remains under investigation.
