The Lakes Crisis & Resource Center's Annual Banquet & Auction will be held on Saturday, April 22, at Speak Easy Restaurant in Detroit Lakes. Social hour will be held from 6-7 p.m. along with a Silent Auction. Dinner will be served at 7 p.m. with a Live Auction to follow at 8 p.m.
Lakes Crisis & Resource Center provides domestic violence, sexual assault, and general crime advocacy services along with Positive Connections. Positive Connections is a safe exchange and visitation center. It was established to provide a safe and nurturing environment where children can meet with their parents under the watchful eye of the skilled LCRC staff.
Jan Logan, executive director of the LCRC, is focused on growing the services that the LCRC currently offers by providing additional services for the increasing number of at-risk children in our community. Additional funding for no-charge support groups for children who are witnessing domestic/emotional/drug abuse need to be reinstated at the center, as well as a full-time children's advocate. The number of families that Positive Connections serve continues to rise partly due to the result of the increased methamphetamine usage, which necessitates the center in adding an additional visitation space.
This banquet is open to the public. For more info or to purchase tickets contact Jan Logan at 847-7446 or janl@arvig.net .
