Crookston man set to be sentenced on Internet luring charge

GRAND FORKS -- A Crookston man caught in an Internet sting is expected to plead guilty to a charge of luring a minor, Ramsey County (N.D.) State's Attorney Lonnie Olson said Monday.

GRAND FORKS -- A Crookston man caught in an Internet sting is expected to plead guilty to a charge of luring a minor, Ramsey County (N.D.) State's Attorney Lonnie Olson said Monday.

Gerald Pride, who appeared in state District Court on Monday, is set to be sentenced Jan. 14. The charge is a Class B felony with a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison and a $10,000 fine.

Pride is accused of having online chats with a sheriff's deputy who posed as an underage girl. Pride offered to pay the "girl" for sexual acts, according to a criminal complaint.

Pride, 36, was arrested July 3 when he showed up at a meeting place in Devils Lake.
