A Detroit Lakes man will make his first appearance Tuesday in Becker County District Court on a felony drug possession charge.
Korey Jerome Krogen, 39, of 13239 E. Pearl Lake Rd., Detroit Lakes, is facing one count of fifth degree controlled substance crime-possession in connection with an Aug. 3 event in Becker County.
Krogen was traveling in a pickup truck with a female passenger, Julie Mortenson, south of County Road 12 on Highway 59 in Becker County, when they were spotted behind the wheel of the pickup. Both Krogen and Mortenson had active warrants against them out of Mahnomen County.
During a search of the vehicle, officers found a glass pipe wrapped in a bandana by Krogen's seat; there was residue in the pipe that later tested positive as methamphetamine.
