The Detroit Lakes boys' swimming team touched out its Mid-State Conference rivals Perham Thursday inside BTD Aquatics Center 100-86.
The meet was close throughout, as DL sealed the deal in the final event with first and second place finishes in the 400-yard freestyle relay.
The DL A 400 team consisted of Brandon Olson, Travis King, Cody Okeson and Quillan Oak, while the B squad was Carter Krengel, Jared Olson, Brady Otto and Melgaard.
Brandon Olson won a pair of individual events, including the 200 freestyle with a 1:57.59 time and the 500 freestyle with a mark of 5:21.25.
Cody Johnson swam well in the 200 individual medley with a gold place and a 2:28.60 mark and Quillan Oak won each the 100 butterfly (59.70) and the breaststroke (1:01.60).

DL gained some big points in diving with a sweep in the top three finishes.
Jon Melgaard led the way with 235.8 points, followed by Justin George with 197.8 and Pat Rethwisch taking third with a mark of 167.4.
The Lakers will be in action Saturday in Park Rapids for an 11 a.m. start.
