A Detroit Lakes man made his first appearance Tuesday in Becker County District Court on a felony charge of third degree burglary.

Jesse Lee Paskey, 27, of 595 Shorewood Drive, Detroit Lakes, is accused of breaking into Lakes Sport Shop in Detroit Lakes on Sept. 8, 2009, and taking a cash register containing roughly $2,000 in cash.

Paskey was allegedly identified using video surveillance footage of the area taken during the alleged theft, along with fingerprints and blood evidence taken at the scene, which allegedly matched Paskey's DNA profile as a convicted offender.

Paskey's bail was set at $25,000 with conditions, or $100,000 without; he has been released on $25,000 bond pending his next court appearance at a Dec. 13 omnibus hearing.
