Brady Jay Moran, 22, of Detroit Lakes, has been charged with felony fifth-degree controlled substance crime and misdemeanor theft. According to court records, on Oct. 4 Detroit Lakes police responded a complaint of shoplifters at Central Market.
An employee had confronted Moran and another person about shoplifting, at which point both Moran and the other person allegedly pulled blocks of cheese from their pants and threw them at the employee, then fled the store.
When police stopped Moran, a syringe with meth residue was allegedly found on his person, along with a candy bar. Moran was released on his own recognizance, with conditions.
