A Detroit Lakes man was sentenced last week in Becker County District Court on a felony charge of selling drugs.
Joshua John Erickson, 28, of 311 Pelican River Road, Detroit Lakes, was given a stay of sentence on conditions including completion of 10 days in jail, community service work in lieu of $630 in court fines and fees, and up to five years of supervised probation.
A second felony charge of drug possession was dismissed. If Erickson successfully completes his probation, the felony charge will be reduced to a misdemeanor on his record.
The charges stemmed from a Jan. 8, 2009 incident in which Erickson reportedly sold marijuana to a confidential law enforcement informant in Becker County.
A search warrant was subsequently executed at Erickson's home on Jan. 9, and large quantities of marijuana (over 60 grams total) were found.
