The Cass County Sheriff’s Office Tuesday released the identity of a man who died Monday in a dirt bike crash near Hunter.
John J. Housholder, 46, of Detroit Lakes was injured on a private dirt track while riding a dirt bike about 1 p.m. Monday, said Capt. Mitch Burris of the sheriff’s office.
Burris said Housholder died before he could be taken to a hospital.
He said the incident happened at 1659 153rd Ave. S.E., at a home owned by Jason D. Johnson. Burris said Housholder had ridden on the track at least one other time.
Witnesses told Deputy Jade Van Den Einde that Housholder took a jump but lost control and fell, according to KVRR News.
