Leadership Minnesota, a program of the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce, serves to enhance the understanding of the state's economy and the role of public policy for Minnesota's business leaders.

Participants include mid to high-level managers, presidents and business owners from diverse business sectors across Minnesota.

Participants will travel the state for five, two-day sessions during which they will be exposed to a range of businesses that drive Minnesota's economy.

They also will have the opportunity to talk with the state's business and political leaders and obtain an inside view on Minnesota's key industries and the policy issues that will shape the state's future.

The program kicks off Sept. 11-12 with an orientation in Owatonna.

"This program allows participants to see the distinct challenges each industry faces and, at the same time, the common hurdles presented in today's global economy," said Tess Hohman, chair, Leadership Minnesota, of General Mills in Minneapolis. "It also offers attendees great access to key policy-makers and highlights the importance of sound relationships between business leaders and Minnesota's government."

The Minnesota Chamber of Commerce is the state's largest business advocacy organization, representing more than 2,400 businesses of all types and sizes on state public policy and regulatory issues.
