To prevent water services from freezing up and to keep the system healthy Detroit Lakes Public Utilities is asking all customers to run a small stream of cold water out of one faucet in their home or business.  There has been a large increase in service lines freezing up this year due to the cold weather and a deeper than normal frost line.  Customers will be billed for their average usage from 2013 during the months of March and April to aid in reducing costs of running the additional water.  This notice remains in effect until further notice.  If you have any questions please contact Detroit Lakes Public Utilities at 847-7609
