Team Minnesota Track & Field (which includes members from Detroit Lakes High School) is collecting used and unwanted cell phones in order to raise money to get them to the ISSI "Down Under Games" this summer, an international track and field meet in Australia.
They are asking for the public's help.
Unneeded cell phones may be dropped off at Central Market in Detroit Lakes as well as at Detroit Lakes High School.
The team will be accepting cell phone donations until May 1, 2008.
The donated cell phones are sent to Pace Butler Corporation of Edmond, Okla., a leader in the cell phone recycling industry ( www.pacebutler.com ).

By donating cell phones, the public not only helps Team Minnesota Track and Field raise money to go to the "Down Under Games," they also help the environment, while at the same time getting rid of unneeded clutter in their homes.
Each athlete must be nominated by his or her high school coach in order to participate in the Down Under Sports Program.
