LP-A School Board selects new district superintendent

LAKE PARK —The Lake Park-Audubon School District will soon have a new superintendent.

After a search that included interviews with five area school administrators, the LP-A School Board has selected Dr. Paula Henry, principal of Eastwood Elementary School in West Fargo, to replace departing Superintendent Dale Hogie in July.

“We believe Paula has the qualifications and skills to move the school district forward," said LP-A School Board Chairman Darrel Pederson. "We look forward to working with Paula in her new capacity."

The school board will be conducting contract negotiations with Henry over the next few days, and a contract is expected to be approved at the board's March 18th meeting. Henry's tentative start date is slated for July 1, "or as soon as possible thereafter," accoridng to a press release that was sent out Friday afternoon.

Henry was interviewed by the school board this past Wednesday, March 13, along with fellow finalist Scott Leslie, superintendent of Barnesville Public Schools. The two finalists were selected from a pool of five semifinalists, including Terri Anderson-Mann, superintendent/principal at Naytahwaush; Michael Pagel, elementary principal at Fulda; and Brad Johnson, elementary principal at Benson, who were interviewed by the board on March 8-9.

A total of 15 applicants were vetted for the position, based on criteria established by the school board.
