The Detroit Lakes High School band performed the "Star-Spangled Banner" at a packed Target Field in Minneapolis on Saturday, prior to the Minnesota Twins and Detroit Tigers game.

Band director Tim Siewert sent in an audition tape of the band performing the national anthem to get the Twins' approval to play. He thought it would be a great experience for the kids, and has said he hopes to do it again in the future.

Target Field was full for the Saturday game, meaning the band played in front of a crowd of more than 39,000 people.

There are currently more than 100 players, in grades 9-12, in the Detroit Lakes High School band.
