Entries are being accepted for the local Veterans of Foreign Wars annual student essay competition, “Voice of Democracy.”
Detroit Lakes area students in grades 9-12 and homeschool students are invited to enter the audio essay “Voice of Democracy” contest.
“Voice of Democracy” contestants should submit a three- to five-minute recorded essay, burned to audio CD, by Thursday, Oct. 31. The theme this year is “What makes America great?” Entrants have the opportunity to win thousands of dollars in scholarships and a trip to Washington, D.C.
