Minnesota Agriculture in the Classroom and its Foundation have announced the recipients of the 2019 Agricultural Literacy Grants, which support educational efforts from kindergarten to high school across the state.

A total of 14 projects received grants of up to $1,000 each to help support agricultural literacy efforts that involve hands-on activities with bees, lettuce, strawberries, and more. One of those grants, for $950, was awarded to Lake Park-Audubon Elementary School's "Lettuce Grow Produce in the Winter" project, led by teacher Kathrina O'Connell.

Minnesota Agriculture in the Classroom's mission is to increase agricultural literacy through K-12 education.
