A prestigious PEO STAR Scholarship, awarded for the 2020-21 academic year, was recently presented to Brenna Mahoney, Frazee.

The Philanthropic Education Organization's STAR Scholarship is open to young women who are citizens or legal permanent residents of the United States or Canada and who are graduating high school seniors at the time of application. A student must be recommended by a PEO chapter for the award; Mahoney was nominated by PEO Chapter DQ of Detroit Lakes.

Mahoney, who received a $2,500 scholarship, will be majoring in exercise science and pre-physical therapy at the University of Minnesota Morris this fall. She was presented with the award by Philanthropic Education Organization Chapter DQ members Betsy Norby and Provi Airheart. Also on hand for the presentation was Frazee-Vergas High School Principal Anna Potvin.
