The Lincoln Education Center in Detroit Lakes is closed today and tomorrow, Monday, Oct. 5 and Tuesday, Oct. 6, following a positive case of COVID-19 in the building.

“We were notified of a positive case of COVID-19 (novel coronavirus) at Lincoln Education Center on Sept. 28 - Sept. 30,” states an announcement posted to the Detroit Lakes Public Schools Facebook page. “Out of an abundance of caution, all programming at LEC will be closed Monday, Oct. 5 and Tuesday, Oct. 6, including extended care, in order to thoroughly clean and disinfect and await further guidance from the department of health.”

Staff and families of children who were in close contact with the positive case are being notified and will be required to stay home until Oct. 13.

The Lincoln Education Center houses the school district’s early childhood and community education programs.
