“Transform a life, and your own,” is the Vitalant (formerly United Blood Services) tagline for recruitment. The Lake Park-Audubon National Honor Society accepted that challenge and hosted its bi-annual Fall Blood Drive on Nov. 20 at Lake Park American Legion.

At the blood drive, over 50 people registered to donate, which resulted in 49 units of lifesaving blood, double red cells, RBC plasma, and plasma from the community, according to a press release.

“Thanks again for reserving the location, helping to recruit volunteers and donors, and letting them know how important it is to donate. We would not be able to save lives without you or your students," stated Donor Recruitment Representative Jenna Steen to the community, school and honor society students.

The honor society plans to sponsor another blood drive in the spring of 2021. New donors are always welcome. Twelve of this year's 50 participants were first-time donors.
