Several Detroit Lakes School Board officers were re-elected to their positions at a special organizational meeting Monday night, Jan. 4, in the Detroit Lakes Middle School Auditorium.

Board members unanimously voted to re-appoint Amy Erickson as board chairwoman and John Steffl as vice chairman.

April Thomas was elected as board clerk, succeeding Kylie Johnson, who was elected as treasurer (Jennifer Pedersen held that position last year).

New board member Courtney Henderson was also sworn in for her first official meeting, though she had attended several previous meetings as a guest.

The board also voted to keep their salaries at the same level as in 2020. Board members will once again receive $200 per day for attending regular and special board meetings as well as board work sessions. They will also receive $60 per day for attending any committee meetings, workshops, seminars, conventions, or other event at which they are representing the school district.

The board's next regular meeting is set for 5:30 p.m., Monday, Jan. 11, also in the middle school.
