Two named to dean's list at UW-Eau Claire

Jon Richards, Callaway, and Jaryn Johannsen, Frazee, were among the 2,816 students named to the spring 2021 dean's list at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. Their academic performance has been outstanding, and we recognize these students with pride.

To be eligible for the UWEC dean's list, a student must:

  • be in good academic standing.
  • have a minimum semester grade point average of 3.7 (on a 4.0 scale).
  • have completed at least 12 credits during the semester, with no incompletes, no courses below the 100 level, no repeats, and no Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory registrations (except in degree credit-bearing courses that are offered only on the S/U grading system in which a grade of S has been earned).

Seaberg earns dean's list honors at Bethel

Elle Seaberg, the daughter of Jon and Heather Seaberg, Detroit Lakes, has been named to the dean's list for academic excellence during the spring 2021 semester at Bethel University, St. Paul. She is a junior at the university.

The Bethel University dean's list honors students who achieve an outstanding scholastic record during a semester with a grade point average of 3.6 or greater.

Several local students make Concordia dean's list

Dr. Susan Larson, provost and dean of Concordia College in Moorhead, has announced the names of students whose superior academic achievement during the second semester of the 2020-21 academic year placed them on the dean’s honor list.

Among the local residents who earned this academic honor were:

  • Victoria Branden and Amber Eken, both of Audubon;
  • Katie Glander, Connor Haugrud, Tate Kerzman, Maycen Kirchner, Aaron Oakes, Ryan Paskey, Rachael Perkins, Emily Smith and Lauren Tschider, all of Detroit Lakes;

  • Elise Grabinger, Erin Grabinger, Arianna Johnson and Rianna Lilleby, all of Lake Park;

  • Samantha Sabin, Menahga;

  • Jacob Clements, Osage.

“We offer our congratulations to these students on their academic accomplishments and are grateful for the many ways they have enriched our campus community,” says Larson.

To qualify for the dean's list at Concordia, students must carry a minimum of 12 semester credits and have a grade point average of at least a 3.7 on a 4.0 scale.

Lakes area students on dean's list at SDSU

Several lakes area students were named to the dean's list for academic excellence after the spring 2021 semester at South Dakota State University in Brookings.

To earn dean's list distinctions in SDSU's colleges, students must have completed a minimum of 12 credits and must have earned at least a 3.5 grade point average on a 4.0 scale. Students with an asterisk after their names received a perfect 4.0 GPA.

Among those local students earning dean's list honors were: Sara E. Freeman, Detroit Lakes; Mary Eleanor Nelmark, Frazee; and Haylee Renee Hovanec, Lake Park.

Overall, nearly 3,200 students from 35 states and 30 foreign nations were named to the list. More than 1,350 students received a 4.0.

Local students named to BSU president's list

Several local students have been placed on the president's honor roll for academic achievement during the spring 2021 semester at Bemidji State University.

Those who achieved this honor were:

  • Mikhail Usovich and Kari Wendt, both of Detroit Lakes;
  • Megan Danielson and Arron Erickson, both of Frazee;
  • Trevor Loberg, Lake Park.

To be eligible for the president's honor roll, BSU students must be enrolled for at least 12 credits and earn a perfect 4.0 grade point average during the semester.

Detroit Lakes student earns dean's list honors at Wheaton

Abigeil Doci of Detroit Lakes was among those students at Wheaton College in Wheaton, Ill., who were named to the dean's list for their academic achievements during spring semester 2021.

To earn dean's list honors at Wheaton, an undergraduate student must carry 12 or more credit hours and achieve a 3.5 grade point average or higher on a 4.0 scale.

UND students from lakes area honored for achievements

The University of North Dakota in Grand Forks has honored several lakes area students for their academic achievements during spring semester 2021.

Among those local students who were named to the dean's list were:

  • Taylor Prussia, Audubon;
  • Sydney Brininger, Caitlin Collins, Max Gunderson, Morgan Mastrud and Ellie Morgan, all of Detroit Lakes;

  • Isaac Benson, Waubun.

The UND dean’s list comprises students whose grade point average are in the top 15% of the enrollment in each of the University's degree granting colleges and schools. A student must have completed no fewer than 12 semester hours of academic work for the semester, of which eight or more hours must be graded work rather than "satisfactory/unsatisfactory."

Local students named to the UND president's roll of honor included:

  • Laura Prussia and Taylor Prussia, both of Audubon;
  • Sydney Brininger and Max Gunderson, both of Detroit Lakes;

  • Brianne Huesman, Rochert;

  • Isaac Benson, Trenten Johnson and Logan Pazdernik, all of Waubun.

To qualify for the UND president's roll of honor, a student must have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.8 or higher. The student must also have earned a minimum of 30 semester hours and have completed a minimum of 12 hours at the close of the semester, eight of which must be for traditional letter grades.
