A former UND basketball star who played in the NBA is in the Grand Forks County jail Thursday after being arrested on a warrant alleging he failed to pay child support, university police Chief Duane Czapiewski said.
Jerome Beasley, 30, of Grand Forks, must pay $6,651 or stay behind bars until Nov. 19, a correctional officer said.
Czapiewski said Beasley was spotted at the Hyslop Sports Center playing basketball Wednesday afternoon, and an officer arrested him.
"There were no issues. He was in total compliance," Czapiewski said of Beasley's arrest.
Messages left for Beasley at the jail were not immediately returned today.
