The Minnesota Farm Bureau Federation and the Minnesota Department of Agriculture have released an updated fact sheet outlining the progress agriculture has made and continues to make to improve wetland habitat on private farmland.
"Agriculture's Contribution to Restoring Minnesota's Wetlands" outlines the progress agriculture has made and continues to make to improve wetland habitat on private farmland and provides a brief overview of current Farm Bill conservation programs working to protect and build wildlife habitat for the state.
It also describes the location of Conservation Reserve Program wetlands in Minnesota, lists total acres restored to date through CRP and other programs, and describes other wetland restoration opportunities.
This information was compiled with the intention of educating the public about the facts in wetland and habitat restoration. MFBF and MDA worked with the USDA Farm Service Agency, USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service and the Minnesota Board of Water and Soil Resources to assemble the information.
The fact sheet can be found at the Minnesota Farm Bureau Federation's Web site at www.fbmn.org .
