A driver for a Fargo cab company broke up an attempted robbery Friday night.
According to Fargo police, Doug Dietrich called his employer, Doyle Yellow Checker Cab around 11:30 p.m. Friday saying a passenger tried to rob him.
The passenger said he had a knife and demanded money, but after deciding the rider was unarmed, Dietrich refused and punched the would-be robber a number of times in the head.
Police arrested a man who matched the description shortly after near Main Avenue and University Drive.
Twenty-six-year-old Justin James Lee Rodriguez of Fargo was arrested for attempted robbery.

Dietrich reported no injuries but Rodriguez had a black eye, according to police.
