FARGO -- A Fargo teenager is listed in serious condition at a Twin Cities hospital after being found outside in subzero temperatures without his jacket and shoes early New Year's Day.
Police responded to a call shortly after 1 a.m. Friday about an intoxicated 18-year-old last seen on foot, said Sgt. Mark Lykken. Police searching for him found him about 20 minutes later after receiving a report of a male banging on the doors of a church.
Police arrived to find Eichelberger suffering from exposure to the cold. He was transported to Innovis Hospital and then to Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis, where he was listed in serious condition as of about 10:30 a.m. today, according to hospital spokeswoman Kathy Roberts.
Alcohol appears to have been a factor in the incident, Lykken said.
