Fargo man runs from police, jumps into Red River

Fargo, ND (WDAY-TV) -- A Fargo man is facing several charges after running from police and jumping into the Red River early Friday morning.

20-year-old Jake St. Claire was pulled over in downtown Moorhead when he ran away on foot to the river.

St. Claire jumped into the water and swam to the Fargo side, near the Memorial Park footbridge.

Officers arrested him and he was taken to Sanford Health with some non-life threatening injuries.

St. Claire is facing charges of 4th degree assault on a police officer, giving police a false name, fleeing and obstruction of justice.
