FARGO – A Fargo woman is behind bars after police say she slammed into the back of a stopped ambulance going about 60 mph while fleeing a traffic stop.

Fargo police Lt. Joel Vettel said police were trying to pull over the vehicle driven by Miranda Lynn Pearson, 22, for a traffic violation while she was westbound along Seventh Avenue at around 1:50 Tuesday morning.

Instead, Vettel said, officers saw Pearson take off, hitting speeds over 60 mph in 25 to 30 mph zones.

Pearson lost control of her vehicle in the 2400 block of Seventh Avenue and rear-ended an ambulance that was stopped there.

She was arrested on suspicion of reckless endangerment, fleeing and driving under the influence, Vettel said.
