DETROIT LAKES - College Goal Sunday is designed to help students complete the 2008-09 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
College Goal Sunday in Minnesota is sponsored by the State Office of Higher Education and the State Association of Financial Aid Administration and with supplemental support from the Lumina Foundation for Education.
In 2007, CGS served more than 28,000 families in 32 states by offering 600 sites and with the help of 5,500 volunteers.
Locally, the state School of Business, located in Fargo, has expanded its College Goal workshop to three dates, hoping for better participation on Saturdays (instead of Sundays). Working cooperatively with local high schools and other community organizations , College Goal Sunday hopes to ensure high school seniors know this assistance is available and that it is free.

Students should bring a parent along and also bring a complete 2007 Federal Tax Returns for parents and students.
