Four children escape overnight fire in southern Minnesota
KIESTER, Minn. — Four children were taken to a hospital for observation after a house fire in the southern Minnesota community of Kiester early Friday morning, March 8.
The children escaped the house safely but were taken to the Albert Lea hospital as a precaution, according to a Faribault County Sheriff's Office press release.
Multiple pets died in the fire, reported at 3:30 a.m. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
Kiester is about 50 miles south of Mankato near the Iowa border.
The American Red Cross is helping the family with temporary housing.
