Detroit Lakes firefighters were called to a chimney fire at Roasted Pub and Eatery in downtown Detroit Lakes about 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 18.

Washington Avenue was blocked off by emergency vehicles on the 800 block in front of the restaurant.

Firefighters climbed up to the roof of the building and used a fire extinguisher to put out the chimney fire, which was powered by an interior fan that at one point sent a burst of flames up over the rooftop, until the power was shut off at the electrical panel.
