Callaway firefighters put out this car fire at Becker County Road 26 and Knoff Road on the west-central edge of the Tamarac National Wildlife Refuge on Sunday morning.

Callaway Fire Chief Keith Heinlein said the vehicle was a total loss and was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived. "We couldn't tell what kind of car it was, just burning metal," he said. Nobody was injured in the blaze and no one was at the scene when firefighters arrived, he said. The call for service was logged at 10:26 a.m. and firefighters were on the scene for less than an hour, Heinlein said. The Detroit Lakes Fire Department, Becker County Sheriff's Office and Minnesota DNR also responded to the fire, according to the sheriff's office call log.
