Hub 41, Brygge Taps & Tastes, Roasted, Lakeside Tavern, Zorbaz and Northside Bar have come together to bring a new kind of excitement to Detroit Lakes this Halloween: the city's first-ever pub crawl.

The Blocktoberfest Halloween Pub Crawl is officially set for October 28 and will begin around 6 p.m., complete with drink specials, live music, a costume contest and giveaways throughout the night.

"I've been down to the zombie pub crawl that they do in the Cities, and it was a lot of fun," said Hub 41 co-owner David Grimsley, who is helping to coordinate the event. "I thought it would be fun to bring something like it to Detroit Lakes and Halloween seemed like the perfect time to do it."

Pub crawl passports will be available for purchase at Hub 41 or at eventbrite.com starting on October 13 for $7 and will serve as the event tickets.

"The passports will have logos of each of the six participating locations," Grimsley explained, "and you'll get a stamp at each place saying that you stopped by."

After successfully completing the pub crawl, participants are encouraged to finish up the night at Hub 41, where fully-stamped passports will be rewarded with a free t-shirt.

Live music by Matt Aakre will begin around 8 p.m. in the parking lot behind Hub 41, with alcohol available for purchase.

"We thought that this would be a good way for adults to have some fun around Halloween and a way to bring business into Detroit Lakes in the fall," he added. "We want everyone to join in and we hope this becomes a fun, annual event for the community."
