Flu shot blitz at Essentia

Essentia Health is offering a series of flu shot blitzes across the region.
At Essentia Health St. Mary’s-Detroit Lakes Clinic, flu shots will be available without an appointment at the following times:
• Thursday, Sept. 19, from 3-6 p.m.
• Thursday, Sept. 26, from 8-11 a.m.
• Friday, Oct. 4, from 8-11 a.m.
• Thursday, Oct. 17, from 3-6 p.m.
The flu season often peaks in January or February, but can start as early as October. That’s why experts say it’s important to get a seasonal flu shot as soon as the vaccine becomes available.
The cost of the flu shot is covered by Medicare Part B, Medicaid and most private insurance companies. The shot is offered at a special discounted price of $37 during the flu blitz days and times.
