Former Detroit Lakes man to conduct concert choir

DETROIT LAKES - Mark Potvin is directing the Princeton Concert Choir on Saturday, March 8, at 7:30 p.m. in the United Methodist Church, Detroit Lakes. The concert is free and open to the public.

DETROIT LAKES - Mark Potvin is directing the Princeton Concert Choir on Saturday, March 8, at 7:30 p.m. in the United Methodist Church, Detroit Lakes. The concert is free and open to the public.

Princeton Concert Choir is an auditioned SATB choir for students in grades 10-12. This choir performs primarily a capella music, sings four curricular concerts, performs in conference and region festivals, and tours annually. Enrollment for the current year is based on auditions in the spring of the previous academic year.

Princeton, located 45 minutes north of the Twin Cities, choirs have been honored with performances at the American Choral Arts Festival at Orchestra Hall, the Minnesota Music Educators Association State Convention, and the Dorian Choral Invitational at Luther College in Decorah Iowa.

The choir, under the direction of Potvin, has toured over the past six years to Orlando, Seattle and New York City. The choir has consistently garnered superior ratings at Minnesota State High School League contests.
