Frazee man charged with possession

A Frazee man made his first appearance Monday in Becker County District Court on a felony drug possession charge in connection with a Feb. 7 incident at his residence.

A Frazee man made his first appearance Monday in Becker County District Court on a felony drug possession charge in connection with a Feb. 7 incident at his residence.

Ronald Gene Wirth, 62, of 37446 Hungry Lake Lane, Frazee, was charged after a search warrant was executed at his home at 10:35 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 7. According to court records, officers of the West Central Minnesota Drug Task Force discovered large quantities of suspected methamphetamine along with scales, packaging materials, a .380 handgun and drug paraphernalia, along with $12,420 cash and video surveillance equipment.

Wirth was subsequently arrested after being spotted as a passenger in a vehicle that was headed for his residence.

Wirth has been released on a $20,000 bond pending his next court appearance, at a Feb. 24 Rule 8 hearing.
